latest minutes ever.

So, in case you want to know what happened last week... cause you know, the next meeting is TOMORROW.

... sorry.

Anyway, THE MINUTES:

FOODS

-We're in the advanced stages of getting the food sit'ation in order. "Willy's" or "Uncle Willy's" catering has been suggested. Next week, aka tomorrow, we'll decide.
Whatever is delicious and/or easy for everyone. (And affordable.)

PARTNER UP

-Everyone will need to partner up for Gradshow tables. The second years have already done so, a booth plan even exists. Now everyone needs to decide on who goes right or left, to determine which poster side we'll be printed on. So if you haven't partnered up/decided on a side, DO SO IMMEDIATELY!

-Sam has very nicely created a poster template, it is on the network. Check it out!

ELECTROSTATIC POSTERS/BAGS

-Would anyone like to volunteer to make up a template for printed up electrostatic posters? Anybody? SO long as the resulting designs aren't dated/will be able to be used year after year.

-And on that note, would anyone have time create a design for our bags?

SET-UP

-We're slated to set up on the 17th. We can probably set up ahead of time, assembling our posters on their boards. Please, can as many people as possible assist in the setting up? It will go faster, and leave more time for everyone to get other stuff done.

-Like last year, there will be no set layout/template for setting up our poster boards. Do what you like, people, just try not to overload them with stuff.

Craig suggested the print sizes for our colour posters :
-13 x 19
-11.5 x 40
-12 x 18

-Every booth will have two 4 x 4 foot black boards, with a dell monitor/magic box for playing demos between both. Will they need extra support? How heavy are these things gonna be?

THROWAWAY PORTFOLIOS

-You can have as many on hand as you like, but Craig estimates around 30 is probably a safe number. But then again, we can't really be sure how many people might show up.

FACEBOOK

-Event pages have been created for both friends/family day, and the after party. If you haven't already looked at 'em, please invite more people!

TOP HATS & MONACLES

-Wear them to the gradshow, be instantly classier.

AFTER PARTY

- The swag for raffles keeps on coming in! Hooray! It's been suggested that we could use old rolls of life drawing tickets/sell them at $5 per arm's length, etc.

-If money is running short, do we really need to provide a drink for everyone? (Grads) I mean, does everyone even drink alcohol? The obvious solution is to bring your rich, attractive friends and let them buy the drinks. (The drinks will be around $3.50 each, which isn't too shabby, really, if we do have to pay for them ourselves.)

-If it IS a big success, can we expect capacity issues? This goes for the gradshow as well. Once again, we will need to discuss the issue of having a doorman.

THE END
