I forgot again to post these. What's my problem? But here's the notes. It was just a junior meeting...
SECURITY We discussed whether or not we actually need to hire a security guard. This could be something we can handle ourselves at the actual gradshow - possibly the only time we'll need someone to work the door would be at the after party. HOWEVER, if we did use student volunteers to act as door-people (taking short shifts, of course!) We will figure something out.
AFTER-PARTY We will need to pay a sixty dollar SOCON fee to chapelarts for hiring a DJ - the DJ will cost $200 total. We'll also need to figure out a system for drinks - the number of drink tickets will be limited, we'll probably be able to cover one drink ticket per person. Taking into account the raffle/coat check fee (again, who's going to man the coats?) we'll be able to scrape by. In any case BRING LOADS OF GUESTS!
If it comes down to it, think about what can be done with the remaining money.
CATERING Judy has recommended a caterer that not only offers delicious food, but they'll clean up after the event as well! This is still something we need to discuss at the next meeting.
GIFTS Possible gifts for teachers were discussed... but since instructors are probably reading this blog, I will say NOTHING!
ADVERTISING for the GRADSHOW We could always post ads around the school - also, we can consider submitting events to free publications like the Georgia Strait or WestEnder? Look for other free places to get the word out.
Electrostatic posters will cost around $30 each - feel free to submit designs or images on the server once again.
GRADBOOK Look great, they're just waiting to be approved and it'll be good to go! Thanks for everyone who worked hard on putting them together! The hard final deadline for gradpage stuff is MONDAY MORNING. DON'T BE LATE OR ELSE.
